The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has announced their squad for the ACC Asia Cup 2023 which is starting from August 30 in Pakistan. 

Shakib Al Hasan returns as captain for the Tigers and will lead his side in Asia Cup 2023 as well as in the CWC World Cup 2023. It was announed yesterday that their successful player Shakib would be the captain of Bangladesh in the upcoming Asia Cup, New Zealand series, and ODI World Cup. 

The opening match of the Asia Cup will be played between Pakistan and Nepal on August 30 at Multan Cricket Stadium. 



Bangladesh will play their first match against the T20 Asia Cup champions Sri Lanka on August 31 in Pallekele. They are in Group B along with Sri Lanka and Afghanistan. 

Group A comprises of India, Pakistan and Nepal. 

Opener Tanzid Hasan, whose nickname is Tamim, gets a maiden call-up in Bangladesh's 17-member squad for the Asia Cup. Shamim Hossain, Mahedi Hasan and Nasum Ahmed are recalled in the team for the Asia Cup 2023. 

Bangladesh's squad consistes two players from the squad that played in last month's ACC Men's Energing Asia Cup 2023 in Sri Lanka. Opener Tanzid Hasan and Naim Sheikh were part of that squad in Sri Lanka.
