Nepal confirmed four Travelling Reserves for ICC T20 Cricket World Cup 2024
The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has confirmed the four travelling reserves for the upcoming ICC T20 Cricket World Cup 2024 in United States and West Indies.
Previously, Nepal has only announced the 15-member final squad for the mega event. The travelling reserves was just confirmed on Monday in a press conference.
Wicket-keeper batter duo Binod Bhandari and Lokesh Bam, fast bowling all-rounder Bibek Yadav and U19 star bowler Aakash Chand will be travelling alongside Nepal as reserves. However, they didn't travel with the final squad on Sunday.
34-years old Binod Bhandari is only the second active cricketer to have featured in Nepal's first ever ICC T20 Cricket World Cup back in 2014 in Bangladesh. The other member of the squad, Sompal Kami is in the final squad and is set to play his second World Cup.
Lokesh Bam and Aakash Chand have been performing brilliantly with the Nepal A side under the captaincy of Binod Bhandari. Bibek Yadav has been a regular member in the national side but his recent failure and drop in the performance sidelined him from the World Cup squad.
Nepal is off to United States after finishing the series against West Indies A. Nepal lost the series 3-2.
