Nepal's most successfull footballer and captain of the women's national team, Sabitra Bhandari appealed for help around the world for her knee surgery after suffering serious injury during an A-League match.

According to her, Wellington Phoenix was ready to arrange the surgery in New Zealand, but Sabitra Bhandari declined and preferred to have the surgery in Qatar, where she had previously undergone the procedure.

Sabitra Bhandari later took to Facebook to share details about the cost of her treatment, stating that the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) was not prepared to provide any assistance. As a result, she decided to seek support from her fans around the world.

In response to the love and respect for Sabitra, more than NPR 50 lakhs has already been raised, and the amount continues to grow. Through a New Zealand–based Give a Little campaign, over NZD 45,000 has been collected so far.

Similarly, several individuals and private organizations have pledged financial support to Samba. Xtreme Energy Drink has contributed NPR 500,000, while Nepal men’s national team captain Kiran Chemjong has donated NPR 45,000.
