Pakistan defeated Bangladesh in the second ODI thanks to an outstanding all-round performance from Maj Sadakat, who impressed with both bat and ball.

The match was played in Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium, Mirpur, on Friday. Pakistan secured a 128-run victory via the Duckworth–Lewis–Stern method (DLS), leveling the series 1–1. The decisive third ODI will be played on Sunday at the same venue.

After winning the toss, Bangladesh chose to field first. Pakistan’s innings began aggressively as Maj Sadakat put the Bangladeshi bowlers under pressure from the start. He scored 75 runs off just 46 balls, providing Pakistan with a strong start. His innings included six fours and five sixes.

Following Sadakat’s dismissal, Pakistan’s scoring rate slowed down. Sahibzada Farhan and Shamil Hussain were also dismissed quickly.

Later, Mohammad Rizwan and Salman Agha steadied the innings with a 109-run partnership for the fourth wicket, guiding Pakistan toward a competitive total. Agha scored 64 runs, while Rizwan added 44.

However, after Agha was run out, Pakistan’s innings lost momentum. They collapsed toward the end, losing their last seven wickets for just 43 runs, and were eventually bowled out for 274 in 47.3 overs. For Bangladesh, Rishad Hossain claimed three wickets.

Chasing the target, Bangladesh had a disastrous start, losing three wickets for just 15 runs. Litton Das and Towhid Hridoy tried to stabilize the innings with a brief fightback.

During the match, lightning and hail caused a temporary interruption, forcing officials to revise the target. Bangladesh were set a new target of 243 runs in 32 overs.

However, Pakistan’s bowlers dominated the chase. Sadakat continued his impressive performance by taking three wickets, while Haris Rauf also picked up three wickets. Bangladesh were eventually bowled out for 114 in 23.3 overs, handing Pakistan a comfortable victory.
